Last week, I had a user who has dropped her
15" Macbook Pro, that pretty much shattered the display on the screen. Though
the laptop is under the Applecare services, but accidental problems like this
aren't covered. While I called the nearby Apple store, they gave me a fast
quote of $1,200 just to replace the screen. Imagine at that kind of rate, a
person could be almost better off buying a new Macbook rather than investing on
the damage one. While laughing at that, I have just decided to see how I can
myself replacemacbook pro screen and the display without spending a lot of money! With
my research, it turns out that the fact is, I was able to do it at a budget of $214
only, and it just took me about an hour. So here goes the story:
First, I turned on to Google and the shopping
and Ebay to check what the prices can be for a screen replacement as per the
competitive online market. They are varied, though I was able to find one macparts repair Waco store for $200 (+ shipping
charges o my place around $14) from Waco, Texas.
That seemed to be a pretty good deal for me,
since I didn't expect a screen repair will require $1,000 in just labour costs!
Then I decided to visit the store of my own and check out the real facts. To my
amaze the store has expert technicians who are servicing the phones at a
required time, also the ambience is quite pleasing and the hospitality and
professionalism of the store is truly appreciable. I have been asked to wait
for a few hours to get it replaced and I find it quite comfortable waiting
inside the store, as they have latest magazines to check out. Suddenly I felt
bit hungry and I found there are so many options in nearby restaurant, so a
perfect hang-out place. I just had a good time while hanging in the nearby
market and found out some of my favourite food and croceries and I bought a few
for the weekends too. While I arrived back at the store, it was already fixed.
To my amaze they have completed the services before time. I was quite happy to
pay a reasonable fees, and to get my macbook pro in the perfect condition.
